I have Netscape dial up Vista, not connected to Windows Mail should I connect Windows Mail or just keep as is? - anti spam smtp proxy server

Unable to connect Windows Mail or Netscape, because I have the wrong SMTP and POP-3. What is POP3 and SMTP for Netscape? Do I need additional anti-spam over the already in Netscape? Or should I install Adaware my time?
